The delivery service we use will depend on the size and type of item. We do all we can to ensure your items are sent out quickly and safely.

Charges - Most furniture & home accessories come with free delivery.  Deliveries to Scotland and off mainland UK Islands may incur surcharges, please enquire.

Small items - are usually despatch by Royal Mail or Parcelforce. We will send an email when the item is collected and delivery should be 1 or 2 days later. Despatch times vary between same day and upto 10 days. If you are not available, a card will be left giving re-delivery options. The delivery will be insured.

Medium items (bedside table, picture, clock, small trunk, accessories etc) - will be delivered by courier, usually Parcelforce. Items are despatched within 7-10 days. We will send you a tracking number 1-2 days before the delivery. If you are not available, a card will be left with delivery options. The delivery will be insured.

Large items (chest of drawers, dining table, bench etc) - are normally delivered by our Specialist Furniture Delivery Company with a 2 man team (please check) that will usually deliver to the room of your choice (please check as this is not always possible). They collect from the warehouse once a week, usually Tuesday's. Once your item is collected, they will work out their routes and call you a day or two before the delivery to make final arrangements. These deliveries usually take between 5 and 10 working days. If you are not available at a pre arranged time slot, you maybe charged for re-delivery. Let us know if you need to change dates.

Home office chairs - are usually sent out via City Link or similar on a 24/48 hour service. We will email you on the day of dispatch but do not provide a tracking number.

Mobel Oak / Kudos Ash / Hampton White Ash / La Roque items - are sent out via a different specialist courier. They will call you a few days before the delivery which would normally be in approximately 7-10 days. The driver will need assistance taking larger items to your door. This is a doorstep service.


Our Specialist Courier - will need your phone number so they can contact you to arrange delivery and will also need to be informed of any access issues. Delivery is in mainland UK only, if you live in Scotland or an Island please enquire as costs vary. Some items are delivered with one person so please let us know if you will be unable to assist, when placing your order.

Despatch - Despatch times vary, however many of our deliveries are collected once a week. Please allow upto 14 days for despatch. If an order item is out of stock, we will inform you of the expected delay by email, you may cancel the sale if the wait is too long.

Multi purchase - Should you buy multiple items they will normally be delivered together and if there is a delay on one item, we are unable to split the delivery without charging an additional postage fee.

Returns - Under the distance selling regulations you have the right to refuse/return an unwanted item within 7 days.  The 7 day period starts on the day of delivery. You will be liable for the delivery and return postage. If you have received a faulty or incorrect item, you must notify us upon receipt, we will then arrange to collect and replace the item within the usual time scales as indicated in the terms of delivery. All returns must be in their original packaging.

Collection - We are unable to offer collection as we utilise warehouses in different parts of the Country.

Insurance - All items are insured until they arrive on your premises. Please be aware that delivery men cannot be held responsible for any damage to your property while moving items, please ensure they have clear access to avoid any incidents.

International - In general we only ship to the UK however we are able to send smaller items throughout Europe, items such as bedside tables, clocks, accessories etc, cost vary so please contact us before placing an order. Large items only ship within the UK Mainland, we can deliver to  Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland please enquire before purchasing.  At present we are unable to ship larger items outside of the UK however we can  recommend Abbey Shipping who will deliver to most areas of the world.
Abbey Shipping. Please note that we are not able to accept any liability for damage to an item caused by a courier that has been arranged by yourself, however all items that we ship are fully covered against damage.

By selecting shipping when completing Checkout you are automatically requesting us to arrange a courier on your behalf. We will endeavour to deliver to the UK mainland within 21 working days (excluding weekends & public holidays) on receipt and completion of your order; however, delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors. 'Furniture-House' shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver within estimated time scales.

  • It is the customer's responsibility to supply 'Furniture-House' with the correct Shipping information. 'Furniture-House' shall be under no liability for any postage costs if the wrong delivery information has been supplied.
  • All items delivered require a signature. If a signature is obtained from any person other than the named customer at the specified delivery address, the named customer is still responsible for the item and any charges associated with it.
  • You will receive an email or call from us stating when your item(s) has left us giving you further details regarding the carrier and expected delivery day, if no one is available to accept an arranged delivery you will be responsible for any return or re-delivery fees. When you receive your item/s from the courier it is VERY IMPORTANT to ensure that the packaging of your goods is checked, and in good condition BEFORE signing the delivery note. If the couriers attempt to deliver a parcel with damaged or open packaging PLEASE CHECK it and inform us immediately of any damage.
